This article helped me and my grandchildren understand some of the reasons and recipes behind a lot of the activities that take place at this time of the year . They thought it very cool to each receive a red envelop with money stashed inside . We have all decided to make this one of our cherished family times and get togethers. Next time they want firecrackers to round out this event.

And even a small mention on Page 18 of firecrackers popping at New Year’s, in Tsinan although our father thought it might be the warlords always at war with one another back then. bobbie (aka Barbara Brooks Wallace)
