I’m aware of three basic approaches for making congee: a) a couple of hours on the stove; b) overnight in a slow cooker; and, c) the idea you’ve shared using frozen rice. For me it all comes down to convenience and quality depending on the circumstance, each method is worth a try! ~Wes
